Joining Zonta in 1986, when I came to work in the city as the National Executive Officer for Girl Guides Australia, I was immediately impressed by the calibre of the members, their varied professional roles and their commitment to practical community service for women.
My professional career has been in adult education (Myers and Macquarie University) and association management (Girl Guides and the first female CEO of the Australian Veterinary Association). I retired in 2002 and was elected as the Chair of the Board and Chief Commissioner for Girl Guides Australia for four years. I have been a Board member of the UnitingCare Children Young People and Families Service (Burnside) since 2002.
I also have a husband (John) and two sons, Peter and Christopher. Peter is married to Rosalind. Chris is engaged to Sarah, daughter of Coff’s Harbour Zontian Gael Gray. The wedding is in Gael and Pat’s beautiful garden at Bellingen on 6 September 2008.
My other interests include family and pet dachshund, gardening, walking and gym, travelling overseas, beach holidays.
