We can use al the help we can get at our working days and financial support for our projects is very welcome indeed.

Zonta Club of Blacktown

No job too small or too big

Gathered in from the Blacktown area and stretching westwards as far as Windsor, our Club is a group of enthusiatic, committed and hardworking women who genuinely embrace service and advocacy on behalf of our local community, the wider Australian community and international projects sponsored by Zonta International.

Since first getting together in July 2001, our meetings are never dull!  We meet on the fourth Wednesday of the month for a dinner meeting starting at 6.30pm.

The Club in action

Zonta motherA key priority for us is to advance the health status of women, so this year we are planning a serious effort to support a Zonta International project to address obstetric fistula in Liberia.

This complements our long standing commitment to being very involved with the District 24 Endorsed Service Projects of making Zonta Breast Care Cushions and Zonta birthing kits.

Our Club typically has 2 stuffing days a year to produce over 150 cushions which are distributed to mastectomy patients at Westmead Private, Blacktown, Mt Druitt and Dubbo Base Hospitals.

To make our contribution to Birthing Kit assembly days, we have a different approach of attending assembly days organised by other clubs in District 24 clubs, to put together these very important kits for distibution overseas.

We are also supporting a domestic violence refuge in the local area.

Other activities have included helping at Disabled Swim Meets, distribution of rugs to Westmead Hospital and nursing homes and helping a Sundanese group with a community radio health program.
