To advance the health status of women, our club is an active participant in the Zonta Breast Care Cushion service project. The cushions we make are distributed at hospitals in the Northern Sydney Central Coast Area Health Service. Contact us to help at our next cushion-making social afternoon.
Each year our club gives financial support to projects that meet Zonta’s criteria of advancing the status of women. This includes local initiatives (e.g. women’s health equipment, local women participating in overseas aid projects) as well as the Zonta International Service Program.
To encourage the professional and educational advancement of women, we are long time supports of the Zonta International Young Women in Public Affairs Award. Shown here are some of the 2009 finalists in our Club Award under this program.
These amazing senior high school girls are already actively serving their community and are well on their way to becoming future leaders and pursuing careers in public affairs.
Good luck to our latest winner (on crutches!) from Masada College as she goes on to national selections.

The club’s annual President’s Award is to encourage a mature woman studying to rejoin the workforce or change career. Our 2009 winner (with yellow rose) is pictured with her tutor from Hornsby TAFE.
Zonta Club of Hornsby Ku-ring-gai members are seen below with recent guest speaker, Dr Justin Lees, who demystified stem cell research.
There are more, interesting guest speakers planned for 2010.
