Zonta Club of Nepean Valley

 
 

A focus on encouraging and recognizing women

 
 

Zonta Club of Nepean ValleyNamed for the nearby Nepean River which runs at the foot of the Blue Mountains, we are a dinner Club based in Penrith in the western outskirts of Sydney. 

We meet on the first Tuesday of the month, at 6.30pm. for 7pm.  If you would like to attend a meeting, please contact the Club first by email.

The Club in action

 
 

Members of the Zonta Club of Nepean Valley provide support to both international
and local projects to further the mission of Zonta International.  Locally we support initiatives, organisations and individuals in the community which enable improvements in the health, wellbeing, safety and education of women.


Awards

Woman of Initiative Award (Biennial)   to recognize a woman who has initiated something - a program/event/activity etc - in the community, which has touched and changed many lives in that community.

Education Support and Awards (Annual) to advance the educational status of women by recognizing the efforts of individual women in education at various levels:

Ongoing Projects

Zonta Breast Cushions - These are made and distributed to the two major hospitals in the Nepean Area and to any individual in need.

Zonta birthing kits assembly

Zonta Birthing Kits - Each year the Zonta Club of Nepean Valley has an Assembly Day. Other Zonta Clubs and community members have also been involved. In 2008, with the help of Zonta Club of Blue Mountains and some members from Zonta Club of Blacktown, 1,600 kits were sent to Ethiopia.

Local families in need - The Club's Annual Golf Day provides funds for the Lower
Mountains Family Support Service children's counselling service. Christmas hampers are
also provided for local families in need.
