Located Inner west of Sydney, New South Wales
Meets 3rd Wednesday for dinner – but the trademark of our Club is that we travel to support our fellow Zonta members in their work to advance the status of women and for fellowship!

Members are diverse and drawn from the business, health and educational spheres although we have experience gained by a variety of careers and changing professions. Most have travelled widely and are keen to draw on all experiences.

Making gingerbread houses for Christmas has been a great fundraiser and wonderful fellowship activity for the Club and our wider circle of supporters.
Commitment to Zonta Service and Fellowship
The Zonta Club of Macquarie draws a varied membership mainly from the northern side of the scenic Parramatta River – a short distant from the CBD of Sydney. Our members have a wealth of experience in business, health and educational spheres.
We welcome the opportunity to be active in supporting women through service and advocacy especially in those fields.
Through Zonta International and District 24 projects, we are informed on status of women issues in the wider community and aim to be across local service in our own area.
Educational status of women
This year we acknowledged the achievements of 8 Aboriginal women (photo above) who completed their Certificate 111 in Children Services at the Western Institute of TAFE.
Every year we provide three awards to women undertaking and achieving in studies that traditionally are not those considered the domain of women:
- outstanding female graduate in either Horticultural or Environmental studies at Ryde TAFE;
- outstanding female graduate in either Hospitality or Tourism studies at the Ryde TAFE;
- outstanding female student at Marsden High in mathematics and science.
Health status of women
On an ongoing basis we make and supply breast care cushions for patients at Concord and RPA Hospitals. We also fund and maintain wigs for the wig bank at Concord especially wigs for older women.

We are most grateful for the assistance provided to our work on these projects
by the contributions of financial support from:
City of Canada Bay Council and The Canada Bay Club
Economic status of women
This year we will support the District 24 Endorsed Service Project – Samaritan Accommodation refuge for trafficked women.
Fundraising
We organise and participate in fund raising activities. In the past, most have been in house and included dinners at the Ryde TAFE and a visit to the Hunter Valley.
Please feel warmly welcome to contact us by email if you would like more information or could help the Club in any way.
