Advocacy is the expression of support for or opposition to a cause, argument or proposal. Advocacy may include influencing laws, legislation or attitudes. Zonta advocacy is an action taken in the public interest or for the greater good with respect to advancing the status of women and girls and their human rights.

Zonta District 24 advocates at the District level, including with the NSW and ACT Governments. Through its membership of a national women’s alliance – economicSecurity4Women – District 24 is also able to express its voice to the Australian Government. Our District also advocates at a national level through our membership of Zonta Australia.

Three pillars guide our advocacy approach: Gender Equality, Gender Equal Climate Justice and Elimination of Violence Against Women & Girls.

Clubs mostly undertake advocacy on issues arising their local area.
