A National Voice for Women and Girls

A Zonta Australia approach will provide a framework for greater advocacy as well as greater visibility of the organisation in national arenas.  Zonta Australia has the potential to strengthen the position of Zonta among the supporters of women and girls in Australia.

Zonta Australia, announced at the Zonta International Convention in Brisbane in June 2024, will focus on those issues pertinent to Zonta International goals in Australia.  In order to put a position to government or other institutions it is important for Zonta to have a united position and to speak with one voice.

A Zonta Australia Committee has been formed with the three District Advocacy Chairs and a second representative from each District, to develop and promote key advocacy messages.

The proposed duties, which will be discussed further into the new biennium, will be to identify advocacy action that can be implemented across Australia, and include club suggestions and national awareness.
